THE WNBA has launched an investigation into alleged comments made towards Angel Reese.
The league confirmed they are looking into the remarks after a flash point in Saturday’s season opener.

Reese clashed with rival Caitlin Clark in the Chicago Sky’s game against the Indiana Fever.
Tempers boiled over inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Associated Press report that Reese was subjected to alleged racial slurs.
And the WNBA is investigating comments made by fans towards the Sky bench.
A statement read, “The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms.
“They have no place in our league or in society.
“We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter.”
Reese didn’t comment on the alleged fan remarks after the game.
But her Chicago Sky team also released a statement.
Team CEO Adam Fox said, “We welcome the WNBA’s investigation of allegations of fan misconduct during our first game of the season.
“We will do everything in our power to protect Chicago Sky players.

“And we encourage the league to continue taking meaningful steps to create a safe environment for all WNBA players.”
Reese was restrained by teammates after an incident with Clark.
She was knocked to the ground by her rival on a basketball play.
In the heat of the moment she got up and seemingly chased after Clark.

But crowd hostility towards Reese continued for the rest of Indiana’s 93-58 win.
Reese didn’t have much to say about the incident, calling it “a basketball play” and saying the refs made the right decision.
Clark also tried to play down the incident.
The Fever star said, “Let’s not make it something that it’s not.
“It was just a good play on the basketball.
“I’m not sure what the ref saw to upgrade it, and that’s up to their discretion.
“It’s a take foul to put them at the free-throw line.”
Clark added, “I’ve watched a lot of basketball in my life, that’s exactly what it was.
“I wasn’t trying to do anything malicious.
“That’s not the type of player I am.
“It’s just part of basketball. It is what it is.
“She was trying to make a play on the ball and get the block. It happens.”
